Gert Steegmans (BEL/Trek Factory Racing) was simply blown into a ditch 2 meters down, off the road by the fierce winds (up to 80km/h) in the infamous Moeren.
His bike went under and the team mechanic had to go fish it out. Steegmans abandoned at the spot with an injury in the face.
