The 15th stage came to an abrupt halt after just a few minutes (3km) of racing following a large crash that forced the race to temporarily be neutralized as medical assistence was temporarily stretched to the max and further medical safety became an issue.
Natnael Berhane (ERI/Cofidis) was among the victims and needed to abandon the race.
