Although Dimitri Claeys (BEL/Wanty-Groupe Gobert) is getting ready for the biggest race in his career, he will be racing with a heavy heart as it will be the first race of the team after the death of teammate Antoine Demoitié the week prior (in Gent-Wevelgem).
Maybe motivated by the circumstances Claeys managed a breakthrough performance later that day as he finished 9th in his very first Ronde (and 1st rider of a Pro-Continental Team).
