With breakneck speeds (of up to 100km/h!) riders "sprinted" from the Albulapass (2312m) towards the finish 5km further down.
2 riders overshot a corner (on the very same spot) and landed deep down in a raveen and were stopped by a little concrete plateau. SHEFFIELD Magnus (USA/INEOS grenadiers) miraculously got up some time after, but was clearly in a state of shock while MÄDER Gino (SUI/Bahrain-Victorious) was less fortunate as he needed to be reanimated (for over 20 minutes) and eventually was helicoptered out. This kind of finish (at the end of a high speed descent) was critisized by ceveral riders afterwards as 'too dangerous'.
