Red Jersey / Overall GC leader Ben O'CONNOR (AUS/Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) coming back up/down from the misty Covadonga finish climb after finishing and wrongfully assuming the podium was at the bottom of the climb after stage 16 from Luanco to Lagos De Covadonga (ESP/181km) of the 79th La Vuelta Ciclista a España 2024. He got fined 1000 Swisss Francs and lost 20 UCI points because of him showing up too late for the podium ceremony because of this.
